SCARED OR ALONE? SEE WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW.

I came into the UK few months ago and all I can tell you is it's hard, really hard for someone who didn't come here with any family or friends. I know how stressful and challenging it can be, to be an international student in a new environment and a total different ambiance where you have no family or relative. It can be really depressing at some point but worry not, keep your head up and keep going its going to get better. Keep looking for opportunities and never give up.

Enough of me being a motivational speaker, Now lets get right into it.

These are the few point I will be talking about, as an international students there are lots of questions that needs answers to and I know how curious you are to get answers to this questions. I will be giving answers to some frequently asked questions and a video for you to understand better.

1. What happens if an international student gets pregnant in the UK?
2. What is the new Government policy for international student?

 Now, as an international student nothing happens when you get pregnant in the UK. You might be making some kind of face right now about what I just said that it doesn't make no sense yeah. Just listen to me first 😁.

Ok now, nothing happens in the UK because you're pregnant and other people just face their business and continue with their lives. It's just you that's pregnant and facing your own world, a baby is a beautiful gift from God so chin up and be happy. It will be better if you're strong emotionally and if you came in to the UK alone without the father or if the father came in as your dependent it might not be easy but since you've got each other be strong and you will be fine. It's easier than someone who has no one.

I've seen a story of an international student who traveled alone without her husband and also having to work as an international student with no family. Her husband indeed tried all he could to leave Nigeria to come meet his wife and help her with everything she needs and give her every support emotionally and physically but he wasn't granted a visa. This situation cannot be helped however, the lady in question was able to get by with constant calls from her husband as a little support and gave birth to a healthy baby.

You might be thinking ohh, I don't think I'm emotionally strong to do this but don't worry all moms have this super power and you will be just fine.

Now the next thing is what is the new Government policy for international student, right now I don't even understand what the UK government want at this point. Well readers, if you ask me all I'm gonna say they just want our money guys international student BEWARE!... 😂

Ok, now I know I might have diverted for a minute but the government policy is as bipolar as their weather. According to research, the UK government scrapped the post study work visa in the year 2012 leaving the students with no hope just to be sent back to their home country and didn't get the chance to utilise their options.

So, with these few point of mine you can agree with me that it's safe to say you can't know what the government is up to until you know. 

The fresh but not so fresh new policy from the government now is that as an international student coming to the UK, you can't bring any of your family member into the UK with you and what does this say if you get pregnant without any support it's gonna be a bit difficult because you've to work to pay rent and also have some feeding money. But if you come as an Oduwgu wife to the UK(Oduwgu is a language from the Igbo tribe in Nigeria that means Rich), so if you have a rich husband or rich family member to keep sending you money then you will have no problem, you're just going to need emotional support, make sure to make healthy friends and you will be fine.

IN CONCLUSION 

Pregnancy carries a lot of responsibility and emotions especially if you don't have any support considering being in a new country. Shoveling your studies, work and hospital appointments together, you're going to need every emotional and financial support you can get and worry not, keep your head up high and put everything in prayers. The health sector tries as much as possible to take good care of  pregnant women in the UK. Make sure you talk regularly and constantly with families and friends you've got this💪 Also don't miss your doctor's appointments😁
